There is a 3 Year limitation in which you must bring your personal injury claim, which starts from the day of the incident. For medical negligence cases itis from the date you became aware you have suffered injury as a result of the negligence. In relation to Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims you have 2 years from the day the incident leading to your injury occurred.

 In relation to children they have 3 years from the date of their 18thbirthday to bring a claim for injury suffered before their 18thbirthday, except for Criminal Injuries Compensation claims which is 2 years.
